Our Lady of China Shrine

Our Lady of China (aka Our Lady of Sheshan or The Blessed Virgin Mary)is the patron saint of China. She is shown here with Baby Jesus in imperial yellow robes.

The images on the insides of the doors are from favorite storybooks about China I read over and over as a child and from current events regarding the Chinese government's oppression of it's people (the three orphan girls, the Tiananmen Square massacre) and the invasion and occupation of Tibet (the Dalai Lama).
